The Olight H17R rechargeable headlamp features the newer generation CREE XP-G2 LED light source, with a maximum output of 550 lumens.
Thanks to the dual LED solution, you don't have to give up diffused light in exchange for spot light, as the two LEDs meet both common needs simultaneously. The headlamp's brightness can be adjusted in three steps. At its highest setting, it illuminates up to 100 m, its lowest brightness is a typical "survival light" for up to 30 hours, while at its strongest setting it operates for 1 hour 45 minutes. The headpiece tilts in three positions up to 45°.
A LiPo battery (2000 mAh 3.7 V) is included as an accessory and can be charged via the included USB charging cable, with a LED indicator showing the charge level, but also an audible alarm if the battery dips below 10%. As the battery is designed for the back of the headband, the weight distribution of the light is very good. With IPX4 protection against splashing water, it can be dropped from a height of 1m onto soft ground without damage, but avoid dropping it if possible.
In addition to turning it on with the buttons, a quick flick of the wrist in front of the light head is enough to adjust the brightness, which can be very useful in certain situations. The Olight H17R rechargeable headlamp is a useful companion for hiking, fishing, cycling and mounting.
