The tiny lamp is surprisingly powerful, with a maximum brightness of 1200 lumens that can illuminate up to 166 meters 1.It has a 300 lumen output reduced for an additional 75 minutes to protect against overheating. When charged, it will light up to a range of 82 meters at this still-high 300 lumen output. Other grades include 7.5 hours at 60 lumens for 38 meters, 33 hours at 12 lumens for 18 meters, and 20 days of power and run time at 0.5 lumens. A strobe function, useful for self-defense, is also among the features of this lightweight flashlight.

The Olight Baton 3 can be powered by a single IMR16340 rechargeable battery (included), RCR123A rechargeable battery, or a single CR123 lithium battery.
The lens of the lamp is made of innovative TIR technology with 90% light transmission. And the lamp body is made of 6061-T6 aluminium alloy with special anodizing. This makes the Olight Baton 3 extremely scratch and impact resistant.
The magnetic charging platform is not much bigger than a coin. The charging cable ends in a USB socket, so you can charge it almost anywhere (from a computer, a USB cigarette lighter socket in a car, or a mobile phone power adapter). You just need to bring the end of the light close to the magnetic charging platform, which will stick to it in a flash thanks to the magnet. Charging progress is indicated by the charger in green (charged) and red (charging). The lamp itself also provides information about its charge level: above 60% charge it is green, between 10-60% orange, between 5-10% red and below 5% red, with a flashing red light, which is provided by a light source hidden in the switch.

For those who care about subtleties, the manufacturer has included a magnet in the flat end cap (which can be removed if required) - this allows the lamp to be fixed to iron and steel surfaces, freeing up both hands of the user. The scratch-resistant belt clip can also be snapped on and off the luminaire body with a single easy movement.
