The Nikon Prostaff 1000 is an extremely compact, yet precise and reliable laser rangefinder with a range of nearly 1 km.
Optimized primarily for hunting, the device also features Nikon's proprietary "remote target prioritization"mode. When measuring overlapping objects, there is a choice of "First Target Priority Mode" or "Far Target Priority Mode". The former gives the distance to the nearest object, while the latter gives the distance to the furthest object, with the measurement results quickly displayed on the clear display If the measurement fails once, the instrument will automatically retry for up to four seconds until it can successfully determine the distance. A continuous measurement of up to eight seconds can be initiated by holding down the main switch. This feature gives you an overview of your surroundings, while allowing you to quickly and conveniently determine the distance to multiple targets up to 910 metres in 1 metre increments.
Optical surfaces are coated with multi-layer anti-reflection coating, so the instrument gives a clear, contrasty image. Its 6x magnification allows observation of distant, smaller targets. Its ergonomic design makes it easy to use. Weighing just 130 grams, it's virtually weightless, so you can take it with you wherever you go. Thanks to its waterproof design, it won't let you down even in harsh weather conditions. And with a viewing distance of nearly 17 mm, it's easy to use even with glasses. The device switches itself off if not used for 8 seconds.
