This Lacerta Smart 8x34 binocular is a very good value for money model. Its small size and weight make it ideal to take with you on hiking, birding or scouting, yet it's not so small that you have to compromise on optical performance, as you would with pocket binoculars.
The 34 mm objective lens diameter gives enough light and resolution to see a nice, sharp, contrasty and bright image in normal daytime conditions, but even in overcast, light twilight conditions the binoculars perform very well. This model is recommended for average use for those who are happy with lower magnification.
Optical elements are FMC coated on all surfaces, so there are no ghosting or distracting reflections in the scope, and light transmission is very high. The prisms are made of more expensive BAK4 glass, which also contributes to very good imaging. The field of view is also quite wide, 124 m at a distance of 1000 m.
The viewing distance (eye relief) is very long, and thanks to the folding eyecup, you can adjust the binoculars to an ideal position with or without glasses, so you have the advantage of being able to look inside comfortably. The grip of the Lacerta Smart 8x34 is comfortable and the pupillary distance can be adjusted over a wide range (55-76 mm), so even small children can look inside.
