Lacerta 70 cm dew heater strip 4 cm wide, compatible with optical tubes measuring 54–76 cm in circumference. Requires 12 V power and draws 1.16 A.
Anyone who has observed in the cold autumn and winter months knows how serious a problem dew can be. A dew shield provides some protection, but this is the “real” solution. Dew heaters are small heating pads or heating elements that keep optics warm. They can be secured around the eyepiece or optical tube using Velcro straps. Particularly recommended for Schmidt and Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes, where the corrector plate is especially prone to dewing, but also useful for owners of refractor telescopes. Dew heaters require a 12 V power supply.
The Lacerta dew heater features an RCA male connector.
