Lacerta 20 cm dew heater strip is 4 cm wide and compatible with optical tubes with a circumference of 15–27 cm. Particularly recommended for heating 2" eyepieces and the objectives of 50–60 mm guide scopes. Requires 12 V and draws 0.33 A.
Anyone who has observed in cold autumn and winter conditions knows how serious a problem dew can be. A dew shield provides some protection, but this is the “real” solution. Dew heaters are small heating pads or heating elements that keep optics warm. They can be secured around the eyepiece or optical tube using Velcro straps. Especially recommended for Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes, where the corrector plate is particularly prone to dewing, but also useful for owners of refractor telescopes. Dew heaters require a 12 V power supply.
