With a little experience, you will realise that the maximum capabilities of your telescope can only be achieved by precise adjustment of the optical elements, known as collimation or alignment.
Collimation of Newtonian telescopes (including Dobsonian) should be checked after shipment and, if necessary, corrected for misaligned main and/or secondary mirrors. If you are having trouble with the alignment, we will accurately align your Newtonian telescope delivered to our shop by choosing our collimation service. The exact centre of the main mirror must be marked, for many models this is done at the factory. If the marking is not on the main mirror, it must be done as part of the collimation process. Our service is available for telescopes purchased from us at the time of purchase.
