The new Hikmicro Alpex 4K Lite A40E night vision riflescope is one of the most compact night vision riflescopes on the market. Its traditional riflescope-style design and intuitive icon-based menu system allow it to reliably replace—and in many respects surpass—conventional optics. With its short housing and low weight, it was designed by the manufacturer for small game hunting and pest control. As the closest object that can be focused on with the night vision device is approximately two metres away, it is also ideal for use in enclosed spaces, barns and stables, as well as for stalking.
At the heart of the device is an exceptionally sensitive 3840 x 2160 4K resolution sensor, delivering a colour image during the day and remaining highly usable even in twilight conditions. In night mode, it provides a black-and-white image in complete darkness, which can be effectively supported by the optional IR illuminator. The image can be viewed on the device's 1920 x 1080-pixel OLED display or via a smartphone using the mobile app and built-in WiFi connection. When looking through the riflescope, the corners of the image are rounded, replicating the field of view of traditional riflescopes.
As this night vision device also features 32 GB of built-in memory, it can store several hours of video recordings with audio as well as photographs. Among its many useful features, the extensively configurable and savable reticle selection, picture-in-picture mode, "one-shot zeroing" function, and recoil-activated recording certainly deserve mention. The latter records 7, 10 or 15 seconds before and after the shot.
The Hikmicro Alpex 4K Lite A40E night vision riflescope is compatible with standard 30 mm mounts. The device is sealed against dust and water and features IP67 protection, so it can be used with confidence even in harsh weather conditions, including temperatures from -30 to +55°C according to the manufacturer.
The focus ring is located at the front of the night vision device, while dioptre adjustment is positioned, as usual, on the eyepiece side. Apart from these, only three push buttons and one combined rotary control need to be mastered. This rotary knob is used to access and navigate the logically structured menu, and it also provides access to the digital zoom settings.
The night vision riflescope is powered by a built-in lithium-ion battery as well as an external, replaceable 18650 battery, providing up to 7 hours of operating time on a single charge.
In addition to the device, the package includes the following:
- cleaning cloth
- battery
- battery charger
