The Baader Hyperion 36 mm (2") eyepiece offers a generous 72° apparent field of view—just as much as the eye can take in without moving.
Its six-element optical design in four groups delivers sharp, colour-correction-free images across the entire field of view, with a comfortable 19 mm eye relief. Thanks to its modern optical glass and special anti-reflective coatings, it provides exceptionally high light transmission and excellent colour fidelity. Internal anti-reflection baffling eliminates ghost images.
After removing the eyecup, an M43x0.75 thread is found at the top of the eyepiece for attaching various cameras. An M43/T2 adapter is required for this purpose.
The eyepiece provides a similarly wide area of sky as a longer focal length Plössl eyepiece, while its higher magnification makes celestial objects appear more impressive.
The Baader Hyperion 36 mm (2") eyepiece performs at its best in a 2" focuser. Although it includes a 1.25" adapter, when used in a focuser of this size, a narrower field of view can be expected (50° instead of 72°).
