Do you observe from an urban, light-polluted location, but still want to see mysterious nebulae like the Veil Nebula or the Orion Nebula? If you are a lover of deep sky objects, then a variety of deep sky filters are almost a must-have accessory. By using these filters, emission nebulae, planetary nebulae and supernova remnants can reveal details that would not be visible without a filter, or only from a very dark sky.
The Astronomik UHC-E is a general-purpose deep sky filter that is particularly suited to reducing the harmful effects of light pollution. Its principle of operation is rather simple: it transmits only certain wavelengths of incoming light, mainly those emitted by emission nebulae, and filters out light from disturbing artificial light sources (e.g. sodium and mercury vapour lamps). As a result, the contrast between the sky background and the observed object is increased, allowing faint details to be observed. UHC-E filters transmit visible light over a wider wavelength range than UHC filters, and although the image seen is slightly less contrasty than in a UHC filter, it is much brighter. For this reason, we recommend the Astronomik UHC-E filter mainly for owners of small telescopes. For diameters of 15 cm or more, we recommend a UHC filter.
All Astronomik deep sky filters are made with maximum care and precision by the manufacturer, so that contrast and light transmission are the best possible. The extremely precisely polished glass material and the interference layer, vapor-deposited in about 130 layers, clearly elevate these filters above their competitors. Another advantage is their extraordinary scratch resistance, which is why they retain their transmission characteristics even after many years of intensive use. Thanks to premium quality materials and machining, Astronomik filters do not degrade the image at all. Unlike cheaper filters, Astronomik filters keep stars completely point-like.
EOS clip version
The EOS-clip version of the filter is designed specifically for owners of EOS SLRs. Thanks to its unique solution, the filter can be easily clipped into Canon EOS cameras by hand without any tools or accessories. This makes it possible to take astrophotographs not only through telescopes, but also with telephoto lenses that can be attached to the camera. The clip filter can be used with almost all lenses on the market, except Canon EF-S lenses.
All Astronomik deep sky filters come with a 10-year full warranty!
