The Askar Colour Magic C1 Duo Band (H-alpha & OIII) filter is an effective tool for capturing deep-sky objects with either a colour CMOS astronomy camera or a DSLR/mirrorless camera. It helps reduce the detrimental effects of light pollution, resulting in astrophotographs with greater detail and contrast.
The Askar Colour Magic C1 Duo Band filter is primarily optimised for transmitting the H-alpha and OIII emission lines, which are particularly important for observing and photographing interstellar nebulae and supernova remnants. Around the 656.6 nm wavelength (H-alpha range), the filter delivers excellent performance with a 15 nm bandwidth. In the region around 500.7 nm (OIII wavelength), it transmits the useful signal with a 35 nm bandwidth, enabling detailed study of planetary nebulae and other oxygen-rich objects.
The 2" size allows easy integration into a wide range of astrophotography setups. Its advanced anti-reflective coating effectively minimises unwanted reflections.
