The Antlia LRGB V-Pro Filter Set (36 mm) is a premium solution specifically designed for monochrome CMOS astrophotography camera owners. The 36 mm diameter, unmounted version is recommended for astrophotography cameras with an APS-C size (approximately 28 mm image diagonal).
The package includes a red, green, and blue color filter, as well as a UV/IR block filter, developed with several "tricks" by the manufacturer for dedicated deep-sky photographers. What are these tricks?!
- There is a small "gap" between the green and red channels, precisely where the emission from sodium vapor and mercury vapor street lamps occurs. As a result, the filters reduce the image quality degrading effect of light pollution.
- Antlia has made the blue channel "narrower" than usual. This solution reduces chromatic aberration in refractor telescopes, resulting in even more contrasty stars.
- The blue and green channels slightly overlap in the O-III range, thereby enhancing the signal level (or contrast) at this wavelength. The red channel's transmission is highest in the H-alpha range.
The well-thought-out design is evident in the execution as well. The filters are made from Schott glass, with anti-reflective coatings, blackened glass edges, and low-profile filter mounts as standard features. The Antlia LRGB V-Pro filters have at least lambda/4 or better surface accuracy, making them a premium category.
