Apochromatic refractors occupy a special place among the instruments of amateur astronomers. Thanks to their special glass material, their lenses are free of the colour aberrations that characterise acromatic lenses, giving them unrivalled contrast and sharpness of image.
Excellent Planetary Instrument
The SkyWatcher Evostar ED 100/900 DS-Pro apochromatic is an outstanding instrument for visual observation of the fine details of the planets. Its 100 mm optics, which are of considerable size among binoculars with lenses, provide detailed images at magnifications up to 250x. The Moon appears almost three-dimensional, as if you were flying over its surface. Saturn's ring, including the Cassini disk, and Jupiter's clouds with their tiny swirls are also visible.
Precise focusing is facilitated by a 2", two-speed Crayford focusing wheel and a 1:10 fine focus knob. An aluminium case is standard for safe transportation.
