The Optolong L2 Dual-Combo Set includes two premium narrowband filters: the L-eXtreme and the L-Synergy models. This set is specifically designed for astrophotographers using color cameras, enabling the creation of spectacular Hubble Palette-style images without the need for a monochrome camera and an expensive three-filter SHO set – in a much simpler and more cost-effective manner. The filters are in 2-inch format, making them suitable for use with full-frame sensor cameras without any issues.
The L-eXtreme is a dual-band narrowband filter with a 7 nm bandwidth, allowing the transmission of OIII and H-alpha emission lines. The L-Synergy is also a 7 nm dual-band filter, operating in the OIII and SII ranges. During post-processing, these bands can be separated through software, thus obtaining the H-alpha, S-II, OIII color channels that form the basis of the popular Hubble Palette photos.
The filters feature coatings made with IAD (Ion Assisted Deposition) technology, resulting in a more uniform, durable, and corrosion-resistant surface compared to traditional vacuum evaporation. High-quality anti-reflective coatings minimize unwanted reflections, contributing to clear and contrast-rich imaging.
