The apochromatic telescopes from SkyWatcher are a favourite instrument for perfectionist astrophotographers, as the view without colour aberration can be stunningly beautiful in the resulting images.
Increase the efficiency of your binoculars!
SkyWatcher's 0.77x focus reducer/corrector increases the efficiency of your binoculars: by reducing focus, the length of exposure times required can be significantly reduced and the field of view captured is also significantly increased. An additional benefit is that optical errors at the edge of the field of view are also reduced.
The SkyWatcher Esprit binoculars without corrector can be reduced to a brighter F/5.4 with an F/7 corrector, however, the Evostar binoculars can be reduced to a more favourable F/6.2 with an F8 corrector (since a lower number for brightness means higher brightness).
The Evostar binoculars have a brightness of F8.
The corrector attaches to the factory 3" eyepieces with a standard thread. On the camera side, the default thread is M48 with a 55mm beam path option. A larger light path is also possible: by unscrewing an adapter, a 75mm light path and an M71x1 female threaded connector are obtained. However, if you do need a larger lightpath, you can unscrew an adapter to get a 75mm one, but then you need to use an M71x1 internal thread.
The 0.77x focus reducer is only compatible with the 3.4" (85mm) rack-and-pinion two-speed (1:10 microfocus) flange mount version of the Evostar binoculars.
