Polarizing filters are most often used to reduce the brightness of the Moon and planets.By twisting 2 of them together and rotating them on top of each other, you can adjust the transmittance between about 2% and 40%.
The advantage of this solution is that the amount of light reduction can always be conveniently adjusted depending on the magnification or moon phase used. This means that, unlike fixed transmission moon filters, the image will not be too bright or too dim.
TIP: A pair of polarizing filters is most conveniently used by screwing one onto the filter thread of the eyepiece and the other onto the filter thread of the eyepiece. Then you only need to rotate the eyepiece to achieve the desired light transmission.

Advantage: Állítható szűrési képesség, torzítás mentesség
Disadvantage: Nem lehet fixálni a 2 lencsét lecsavarodás ellen
Állítható szűrés, torzítás mentes kép, minőségi kivitel. Bár nem lehet fixálni a 2 lencsét lecsavarodás ellen, de ezt előre tudtam, ez a két lencse kombinálásának jellegéből ered, tulajdonképpen nem hátrány. Még eddig csak teliholdnál sikerült kipróbálni, de oda kötelező darab.

Advantage: kiváló szűrőpár
Disadvantage: Newton távcsőnél macerás a használata
A polárszűrő nyilvánvalóan csak párban használható, de Newton távcsöveknél a két szűrő csak egymásba tekerhető majd mindez az okulár aljába. Ekkor a fényáteresztő képesség megváltoztatása csak az okulár kivétele után végezhető el. Ez a módja a használatnak nem túl komfortos. Egy apró módosítással a kihuzat 2"/1.25"-os szűkítőadapterének aljába vágott megfelelő menettel az egyik szűrő itt is rögzíthető. Így csak az okulárt kell forgatnunk a fényerőszabályzáshoz. Én ezt megcsináltattam és így már kiválóan használható, de ez nem egy otthoni barkács feladat.
