The Baader UV/IR Pass filter is particularly useful for planetary observers. It filters out wavelengths below 685 nm and at the same time passes wavelengths above this wavelength, which are little affected by atmospheric turbulence (bad seeing). The sharpness of the image of planets can be greatly increased by combining frames obtained with the IR Pass filter with RGB frames.
The IR Pass filter has all the same features as the other Baader filters: excellent glass material and anti-reflection coatings guarantee the sharpest and most contrasty image.
