The Askar FMA180 PRO f/4.5 apo tube is the second smallest member of the newly designed Askar astrophotography lens range, with fantastic optical quality and a great entry point for those looking to capture high quality images.
The manufacturer has changed almost everything in the PRO version compared to its predecessor. The telescope is much more professional, compact and user-friendly. This model now features a vixen rail mount option, and a standard viewfinder mount slipper has been added to the telephoto-designed pro astrophotography objective lens housing. A very precisely adjustable helical internal focus adjustment makes focusing easy. The manufacturer has also refined the optics compared to its predecessor, which is not to be underestimated.
Optics consist of three members, two of which are low color dispersion ED lenses designed to eliminate chromatic aberration (coloration) and achieve rare contrasty, sharp imaging. The short (167.5 mm), yet lightweight (800 g) tube is also well suited for traveling mechanics, offering the possibility of photographing large areas of sky with its huge field of view. Its bright f/4.5 tube's three-member image plane corrector changes the original 220 mm focus to 180 mm, while the f/5.5 aperture increases the focus to f/4.5.
The Askar FMA180 PRO f/4.5 apo tube is an eye-catching sight from the outside with its classic black and red colour scheme, but it's also been designed with great attention to practicality. The 40mm diameter lens can also accommodate a FullFrame format sensor, with an M48 thread for connection. The lens has a working distance (back focus) of 55 mm, making it easy to attach to the most popular cameras. For example, for a DSLR camera, only an M48-Canon, Nikon, etc. adapter is needed, depending on the type of camera you want to use.
The lens can be freely rotated 360° to achieve the most optimal image exposure.
