The Askar FMA180 f/4.5 apo tube is the second smallest member of the Askar astrophotography lens range, with fantastic optical quality, a great entry for those looking for high quality images, but also a great choice as a leading telescope and for visual observation.
Optics consist of three members, two of which are low colour dispersion ED lenses designed to eliminate chromatic aberration (colouration) and achieve rare sharp images with high contrast. The lightweight (395g), short (145mm) tube is also well-suited for traveling mechanics, offering the possibility of photographing large areas of sky with its large field of view. Bright f/4.5 tube's three-member image plane corrector changes the original 220 mm focus to 180 mm, while the f/5.5 aperture increases the focus to f/4.5.
The Askar FMA180 f/4.5 apo tube's all-metal and glass use of glass and classic black and red colour scheme makes it an eye-catching sight from the outside, but also a design that has been carefully considered for its practicality. The 40mm diameter lens can also serve a FullFrame format sensor, with a T2 thread for connection. The lens has a 55 mm working distance (back focus), making it easy to attach to most cameras, and can even be used for wide-field observations with the included 1.25 mm eyepiece with a visual attachment. For visual use, the 220 mm focus can be exploited by removing the included image corrector/reducer and even a 2" music mirror can be used.
Filters can also be easily used with the tube, as the threaded dust cover of the lens is designed with a thread that accepts 2" standard filters. The lens's two tube rings have a multifunctional multi-part foot, so they can be mounted on a ball head as well as a viewfinder mount.
