The Antlia LRGB V-Pro Filter Kit (1.25") is a premium solution specifically designed for monochrome CMOS astro camera owners. The kit includes a red, green and blue color filter and a UV/IR block filter, which have been developed using a number of "tricks" by the manufacturer for the dedicated deep-sky photographer. What are these tricks!
- There is a small "gap" between the green and red channels, right where the sodium vapour and mercury vapour street lamp radiation occurs. Thanks to this, the filters reduce the image degradation caused by light pollution.
- The blue channel has been "narrowed" by Antlia. This solution reduces the chromatic aberration of lensed telescopes, resulting in even more contrasty stars.
- Blue and green channels slightly overlap in the O-III range, thereby enhancing the signal level (i.e. contrast) at this wavelength. The red channel has the highest transmission in the H-alpha range.
The very well thought-out design is also evident in the finish. The filters are made of Schott glass, with anti-reflection coatings, blackened glass edges and a low filter socket as a matter of course. The Antlia LRGB V-Pro filters have a surface accuracy of lambda/4 or better, a premium category.
